If anyone remembers, Mitch and I went to DC about a year ago and tried to see it in literally 24 hours. We did get to see quite a bit this way but there were still some things I missed and we had been meaning to go back. Since I last blogged a lot has happened. Mitch has matched for a residency program in Urology at University of Utah, so Maile and Mitchellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07804058785499911874noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8752105994708548986.post-53877383596247444322013-02-25T16:13:00.002-05:002013-02-25T16:14:53.079-05:00
PB Chocolate Protein Bars
I am taking a Sports Nutrition class at UNC this semester, and my professor showed us a recipe for some protein bars that offer a healthier alterntive to the proccessed bars you buy at the grocery store. I need something I can bring with me and eat on the go on campus, and this recipe seems to do the job. Also, it fulfills my chocolate need for the day!! So here Maile and Mitchellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07804058785499911874noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8752105994708548986.post-58787227360512499882012-08-29T22:33:00.000-04:002012-08-29T22:57:26.762-04:00The End of a Fabulous SummerI'd like to think I sent the summer off with a bang and am ready for school, but now that it's left me I am nostalgic for the freedom of summer. However, The last three weeks of summer were packed full of fun and I am still exhausted from the adventures. My last three weeks of summer began with me flying to Utah to see another one of my beautiful BFF's marry her Prince Charming.

We didn't know it until they told us with a note on Mitch's Jeep. It read something like this "Hey are you LDS? We saw your Utah State license plate and figured you might be. We seriously have had a very busy summer and I have loved every minute. I can't believe it is already July... it is going by way too fast.
The day after we went to Chicago, we picked up the newest addition to our family. Meet Lucy everyone! She is a Mini Schnauzer and is absolutely adorable. Things have been fun and crazy busy, leaving me no time for pretty much everything important, such as cooking, or cleaning... or showering? No but really we have already had many adventures this summer!
I will start with Chicago. Mitch had two conferences there this summer and we decided I should come to one of them so we could enjoy ourselves a Maile and Mitchellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07804058785499911874noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8752105994708548986.post-44889421222782796892012-05-16T16:57:00.000-04:002012-05-16T19:38:23.066-04:00First Week of Summer! My posts have definitely slowed for a while... blame UNC. However, last week was my first week of summer and it began a very great opportunity for laziness. I had my last final on May 3rd, and the Summer session at The Little Gym doesn't begin until June 11th. This means I have a few weeks of working my school-work schedule, which is two days a week, WITHOUT the school!! I have been loving summerMaile and Mitchellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07804058785499911874noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8752105994708548986.post-8742841127281914742011-11-05T22:12:00.000-04:002011-11-05T22:12:22.444-04:00Why my Life is SerendipitousCurrently I am watching the end of Serendipity. My house is clean, I have a lack of homework to do and I am relaxing for the first time in quite a while! I turned it on at the part where Sara finds the five dollar bill that had John's name and number on it. Yes, I did indeed get chills, it is a great movie so no judging. This serendipitous moment got me thinking about Mitch and I's story. The lady running the place woke up to greet us and was so welcoming and sweet. We had one full day in Nairobi before we headed to Masai Mara and we took full advantage. We woke up to a fabulous breakfast made by the guest house’s cook Moses (one of many Moses’ that we would meet on ourMaile and Mitchellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07804058785499911874noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8752105994708548986.post-21470219406265527972011-09-02T20:40:00.000-04:002011-09-02T20:40:48.304-04:00Explanation for the DisappearanceMy husband and I are failures. We came home from our Uganda trip (3 months ago), with high hopes of blogging galore about our amazing adventures in Africa. We decided the only possibility of telling all of our experiences was to divide and conquer. I would write the blogs for Nairobi, Masai Mara, Murchison Falls, and the Babies home while Mitch would tackle the blogs for Istanbul, Jinja, Mt. Hooray for Mitch! I will admit, I was stumped on what to do for his birthday this year. I feel like he always does extraordinary well on his gifts for me and mine are always a fail. We decided part of his birthday would be a mountain bike that we want to get him in a few months so I was not going to get him a tangible present.
He had to work on his birthday so I put Maile and Mitchellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07804058785499911874noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8752105994708548986.post-28592002532842483882011-01-29T20:20:00.000-05:002011-01-29T20:20:03.992-05:00The Need of Being Versed..... in FractionsAlright. I will admit it. I am a failure when it comes to fractions. Simple math KILLS me every time! I was the person constantly thinking how uselss it will be in REAL life. Well my friends, that just bit me in the butt.

I feel like procrastinating today so I am blogging!

Since my last post (which was way too long ago) we went on a lot of mini trips and one BIG one during Mitch's 3 weeks off of school. We started at Falls Lake where we ate Chipotle and Noodle's and Co. to please both of us. The lake was beautiful and we got to see a gorgeous sunset there.
Our next trip was to The Outerbanks. The Outerbanks are islands surrounding the North Maile and Mitchellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07804058785499911874noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8752105994708548986.post-59234266739566849142010-06-15T17:48:00.002-04:002010-06-15T17:49:48.425-04:00Bugs
Mitch and I live right next to Duke Forest, it is great for a view for our deck and makes a great trail for running whenever I feel the need. However.... it does make some big scary bugs get way too close to us! We have spotted two cockroaches since we have moved in. Granted that isn't a ton, but it is two more than I wanted to see ever! Next move of action is buying roach houses Maile and Mitchellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07804058785499911874noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8752105994708548986.post-37794257193035125132010-05-16T01:54:00.001-04:002010-05-16T01:55:24.318-04:00The Little ThingsGrowing up a half hour away from the beautiful Rocky Mountains I figured that mountain biking, uphill rocky hiking, and camping in high altitudes were a blessing to everyone. I learned to take it for granted and did not always hike with my dad when I should have. But I will not make the same mistake twice.

I was so excited, and with good reason! When we got engaged we had six months until we would be with eachother every day, all day so the only thing keeping me motivated while we were apart was the fact that soon, I would be moving away to be with him.Maile and Mitchellhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07804058785499911874noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8752105994708548986.post-49872750176948223852010-04-08T23:36:00.007-04:002010-04-13T19:18:07.061-04:00Married Life Thus far...
Wow... Married Life :). To sum it up, married life is pretty much bom.com. Seriously lovin it! Granted we have only been married 12 days, but no complaints so far! To explain marriage in a simple way, it is like playing house with your best friend all day, every day, and don't say you have no idea what that's like because we have all been there. Even boys. And yes, you liked it. ;)

My good friend and room mate Emily has inspired me to create a blog so I can update people when I am in North Carolina. Way to go Em! :) First things first I will introduce myself and my man. Mitch and I met August 2008, kissed a few days later, fell in love and are now engaged as of September. We are getting married on March 27th....
